Curly girl myself here, in sixth grade a boy cut off what seemed to be a “ small chunk” of my COILY hair, ( it was two inches 💀💀) and you know what? Because of shrinkage he actually cut like five inches off. I… I’m still angry.

Speaking as a victim of this exact thing, Good On You For Protecting Her Even If She Doesn't Realize It Now. Your fears are justified and your actions to protect her are reasonable. I was targeted by both the black girls and the white girls because I'm a redhead. Your daughter's hair is gorgeous and obviously well cared for. Keep protecting her. Keeping her hair up will also protect it from damage.

Small tip to get glitter out as someone who has had buckets of glitter in her hair at times ( I am a musician and a performer) ...put a tonne of conditioner into her hair dry and comb it out . Gets 99% of glitter out

My 6 year old daughter has never had a hair cut before. Long long blonde as can be natural thick hair. When I tell you I balled my eyes out when another little girl was mad she didn’t have long hair and CUT MY BABIES HAIR the day before picture day… I’m still upset a month later!!! She went to school fine and came home with 1inch straight across bangs. Worst nightmare unlocked!

The fear is real! My granddaughter has the exact same hair and someone did cut her hair right up by her bun! I didn’t know until I went to wash her hair a chunk fell out! I was pissed!! Some kids are just brats!!!!

As a 6th grader now who got her hair cut by a student in kindergarten it is so sad that parents have to do certain hairstyles to make sure a kid doesn’t cut off her hair. Also her curls are so adorable

Dont worry ur fear does make so much sense because at my school a boy cut my friends hair for some reason. Luckily the teacher saw and she was able to disipline him
But mind the fact hes old enough to know thats wrong.
He was 13 at the time which concerns me
