If Only 100 People Lived on Earth...

There are almost eight billion people on Earth - but what if there were only 100?

If the demographics stayed proportional, it would be evenly divided between men and women at 50 each.

Two-thirds would be between 15 and 64 years old, with a quarter being children, and only nine being senior citizens.

A full 60% of these hundred people would live on one continent - Asia.

Eighty-six of the people on Earth would be able to read and write, while fourteen would be illiterate.

91 would have access to fresh drinking water, while eighty-two would have access to regular electricity.

And when it comes to religion, 31 would be Christian, 23 would be Muslim, 15 would be Hindu, 7 would-be Buddhist, eight would have other religions, and sixteen would have none. So this small new world would still have room for a lot of houses of worship.

Even if you were to be one of the last 100, it'd be really dangerous by yourself as wild animals would explore cities and it'd also be really lonely. The chances of you finding someone else would be nearly impossible too, so good luck on keeping it stable

To those wondering, if all 100 people were in a village and the only people who were allowed to participate are the 2/3 of the population of teens to 65 years, there would be no inbreeding according to the 50/500 rule of biology in which a minimum of 50 people are required to prevent inbreeding (in this alternate universe, about 66 people would be of age, but if we cut out high school aged individuals for the sake of morality and legal issues, I would estimate that would leave about 55 people aged 18-65 which should still be enough to prevent inbreeding.)

However, genetic drift would be inevitable as 500 people are required to reduce it. This would cause the remaining human population to have very minimal genetic diversity (for at least the first few generations of this AU).

Yes I understand inbreeding is a very NSFW topic, but in a situation like this, it would be very important to understand how the future of the Human race would pan out.
