Wow. My heart is moved and I cannot wait to see how this dancer blesses us with more trenchant presentations like this in the near future.

Join my Street Smart Swing community and learn to mastery Lindy Hop with the simplest system on earth, gain access to all of my weekly classes, and receive my personal feedback on your dancing.

Check out some of my free Lindy Hop Swing Dance courses here:

Anyone who has been around the Lindy Hop dance community for any period of time knows that the art is entirely governed by a relatively small number of universal principles.

What is less known is exactly what those principles are and how a student is supposed to learn them.

Traditionally, instructors expose their students to thousands of moves over several years with the expectation that, at some point, they will “figure out” what the principles are.

The problem is that most students “drown” in techniques for years, and never decipher the principles with any degree of significance and clarity.

Principle-based Learning will help you make sense of every technique you are exposed to past, present, and future.

You’ll waste less time in the frustration zone, and spend more time in the flow zone.

The content you will learn in the Street Smart Swing membership will help you learn instantly what it took me over 10,000 of dancing to figure out.

I have the privilege of being Pedro's student and friend, and to watch him dance night after night. Always with a smile on his face and fire in his feet. He is an wonderfull person, a lindy hop aficcionado, an hardwork dancer that deserves all the the good things that happen to him. It's very touching to see his talent being recognised like this! 🙌

Thanks for this video! I was there during this performance and felt the exact same as you did. And also told Pedro himself that people watching tend to call this talent when I think of this as hardwork and love for the music. Some of us also share a comunity ( the portuguese and the spanish ones) with him and were Lucky enough to have in one momento or another joines his classes.while watching It we could only throw him our shoes because we were unable to express our emotion otherwise. Seeing him, who is also an amazing human being, recognized like this is overwhelming and makes us colectively proud!

Pedro is an amazing dancer, teacher and human being. He had already caught your attention in a Mix and Match final in Bilbao in 2020.

I love this and while I can understand what James and No More Coffee are saying, I think that Pedro's timing is impeccable! Sure, maybe for some there's too much musicality, but I don't think that smile is fake. I suspect that - like me - when he's doing something he loves, he can't help but smile :)

I will say first that this man is a good performer and has solid movement quality. But I am not a fan of the rhythmic mirroring approach to musicality that is so popular these days. I think vernacular jazz dance in its best form emphasizes and complements the music in a more subtle manner than what I saw displayed here and for me that was a demerit.

While this performance has moments of fire🔥(the John Bubbles Charleston for example) the space in between these moments, with the "musicality" formed by just literally interpreting every "hit" in the music, was quite a turn off for me.

I also don't love the fake smile. I really don't have a problem with performers concentrating while they move. I much prefer that to seeing somebody obviously concentrating on maintaining a smile while remembering choreography.

He obviously has potential though. I look forward to seeing more from him.
