The makers of the video make a pretty significant error at 8:45 when they say that the decision to invade the USSR came in May 1941. The planning for Barbarossa began long before then, in July of 1940 in the wake of the Fall of France, the German High Command began planning the invasion of the Soviet Union.
And in regards your comments about Scotland being bombed...it makes perfect sense it would be bombed less...it was close to the maximum range the Luftwaffe could fly to from their bases in France and the Low Countries. 🖖✌

The city of Hull (Kingston Upon Hull) is classed as the most heavily bombed city outside of London, perhaps a long with Coventry. Hull is famous historically for closing its gate & refusing entry to King Charles 1st in 1642, declaring itself Parliamentarian. Battles happened & this was one of the key points that started the English civil war. Also, importantly William Wilberforce MP for Hull, who abolished the black slave trade in the UK, leading to the abolition globally. Hull back in the days of the second World war, was a very important port for trade & fishing for the UK economy. It was strategically bombed by nazi bombers & also used as a dump for remaining bombs, after bombing raids on Liverpool etc. One ingenious plan made to help stop the bombs falling on Hull, was a full size map of the huge docks drawn out on land with lamps. This was mapped out further away up the Humber estuary from Hull & intended to confuse the German pilots looking down from high above. Many bombs thankfully fell on empty fields. The city itself nightly plunged into darkness of course. However Hull was severely still hit with 86% of its infrastructure being destroyed or damaged. Imagine the added destruction if many of those nazi pilots hadn't been duped! The sad thing is, after such annihilation of one of Britains key ports, the Hull blitz was at the time kept secret for national morale & reasons of national security. The press at the time only stating an eastern english city had been hit. Hull's story is still not widely known today. 🇬🇧❤🇨🇦
