Based on the true story from the award-winning book, "A Face of Courage," "RESILIENT" is a visceral inspirational drama in the vein of ‘Blindside’ and ‘Pursuit of Happiness.’ It is the heart-wrenching retelling of a foster care child raised in the unforgiving streets of the Five Points neighborhood in Denver, Colorado in the 1980s and 90s who faced insurmountable odds at every turn in his life. But through true grit and unrelenting determination, he avoided gangs, combated drug-addicted parents, and defied the horrid foster care system in hopes of achieving his childhood dream of playing in the NFL for the Denver Broncos. Though that dream never came to fruition, Dr. Tommy went on to become an internationally acclaimed motivational speaker helping other young, lost and hopeless men and women change the trajectory of their lives.
