Have you ever wondered if you could vacuum seal a Ziploc without using a machine? Prepare to be amazed by this fascinating kitchen experiment from Maynard Okereke, better known as @HipHopScienceShow. It combines science and practicality! By partially sealing a Ziploc bag and submerging it in water, you harness the natural pressure of the water to force out the air within the bag. The result? A near-vacuum seal that locks in flavors, textures, and freshness.

I use a straw to vaccum seal my bags. Can get pretty winded at times though hahahah

This does get almost all of the air out of the bag, but the food item itself sometimes has air inside it, which the water doesn’t exert enough pressure to squeeze out of it. But this is a great solution for those without a vacuum sealer, just don’t store it for AS long as you would with a real vacuum sealer

Use a sink of water for large bags (gallon, etc.)
