You need to stop being apologetic and worried to upset people. It can't be fun to vlog if you always feel you need to defend yourself, so do what you think is fun and share with people. Those that enjoy your vlogs, like myself, will be thrilled and happy to see more content and then there will always be trolls and people that are doing everything they can to get others to feel like shit as they do.

Alex had me laughing so much in this video.
- "Your face needs a wash anyway" (4:30)
- Peering in horror at the cabbage as he took it out of the box (12:28-12:45)
- "They look like cauliflower...when you've taken the cauliflower out" (13:52)

So deadpan. Love it.

It's kind of sad that youtubers can't post anything without having a 2 minute long disclaimer at the beginning of every video these days haha. I appreciate the sensitivity and I wouldn't want every youtuber to be completely tone deaf especially right now but I mean you can't please everyone, especially during this time where everyone has a different way of dealing with and coping with the situation. If anyone has anything negative to say they clearly haven't been watching you for a long time and don't deserve your attention. We know you care about other people and the environment. Sending much love to you Alex, Roxie and your families, stay safe !

I always do half a kilo of rhubarb in 40ml water, 2 tblsp sugar and a hand full of frozen strabwerries. Put them in a pan, low simmer and stir a lot until everything is a mush. Lovely as a snack, on porridge or with icecream!

I tend to put my hair up when I go to the shops these days. It keeps me from constantly touching it which I usually do almost more than touching my face. It took me quite a while to realise this habbit so I thought that a little reminder might help others :)

In Finland my family makes this kiisseli or soppa from rhubarb. You peel it, cut it into chunks, boil with water add sugar. (Maybe even strawberries) then you add potatostarch (or cornstarch) it’s like a almost like a jellies juice. Good with porridge or as such.

you could make a jam with all the rhubarb and then it’ll last/store for a while! could eat with porridge, toast, or any sweet desserts you may have! sometimes when i have extra jams, curds, etc. in the fridge a spoonful can be a sweet treat :)

Honestly this is still really budget compared to how many people shop (at least here in the states). Buying fresh food and bulk staples to prepare yourself is so naturally much cheaper than buying processed or preprepared food.

Also no need to apologise for how you spend your money - but I do appreciate you acknowledging the privilege you so have - just shows how kind and self aware you are.

I really enjoy your videos so much, both of you are such warm and kind personalities - and I also very, very much appreciate your sensitivity for topics like privilege, trigger etc.!! Your sense of awareness is just very, very heartwarming. But please don't ever feel the need to justify yourself. You are so obviously always doing the best you can!

Honestly, 30 pounds a "week" per person is still quite budget - I binge watched "Eat well for less" and the amount how much is spend and the quality of the bought food is atrocious.

Hey Maddie guess what! I requested your book to purchase on my local library (I live in Australia) a couple of months ago and they got it for me! I was the first one to read.💕 spreading your positive energy and love to others😉

I think rhubarb can be made into jams and preserves so if you have too much for the crumble you could turn the extra into preserves

2:57 it’s hilarious to me that you consider your fridge to be “empty” when it looks like that!

On another note - you don’t have to apologize to everyone for living your life. No matter what you do, people will be offended. You just do you and keep being awesome. ❤️

Thank you for being considerate and acknowledging that some of us are luckier in regards to food shopping right now

Thank you for this video, it’s just what I needed. Other commenters are right in saying you shouldn’t have to explain yourself, you’re just doing your best like everyone else. Thanks for a great video and recipe ideas as always 💕

Rhubarb is great teamed up with strawberries for cakes or jam. Or just with lemon juice and sugar as a topping for a vegan cheese cake. 🤤 I think rhubarb is a very German thing, so we have a huge variety of cake recipes. You can make chutney or stew it with onions and smoked tofu. Now I'm hungry. 😅

You could make from the rhubarb a persian stew, called khoresh rivas, its very easy to make it vegan, if u like sour food.

Really ENJOYING your VLOGS at the moment, Madeleine! I tried the Vera Steaks you recommended in a previous video and will be sharing how I used it in a vegan recipe in one of my up coming YouTube videos. I LOVE your 'come shopping with me' videos, so real and down to earth, and all the recipe suggestions are so good. Also, did you get your phone case from PELA? I think i have the same one. Hope you've had a good week! :)
