200 billion trillion sounds like the number you would make up on the playground in 1st grade to impress your crush

I hope I get to see Milkyway someday, I live in city and we get to see only few stars on a good night but mostly there's only like 3 stars visible

With no light pollution the sky is carpeted with stars. I saw it in the mountains of Afghanistan, incredible.

It’s actually crazy what I learnt a while ago that the universe is expanding so fast even if you, on earth went at the speed of light you would never reach the edge of the universe unless you had a wormhole that expanded on the edge of the universe and moved along with it

crazy

I actually noticed this myself on a trip to Austria! We arrived at our camping location down in the valley at around midnight, so it was completely dark with very little light pollution, and so when you looked at the sky, a slight grey hue revealed itself in the sky: the Milky Way! When I saw that I remembered I had my very powerful binoculars, and when I pointed them up into the sky at the black areas surrounding the hue of the Milky Way, I saw thousandths of new stars my naked eye couldn’t see! It’s crazy how much is just hidden from us that are revealed with a slight change in the way it is projected. Definitely something I’ll remember for a long time.

Gravity might be weak, but the fact that it is holding the Laniakea Supercluster together with this information in mind is mind boggling.

*Because if it were bright, we'd all be too busy squinting to enjoy the stars!*

Also the square cube law, too many stars are far away and thus have their light too dissipated for the human eye to perceive.
Even if the stars and/or galaxies were moving in a direction somewhat towards us, blueshifting the light just the right amount to keep it in the visible spectrum.

"Only 13 billion years old" like thats a comprehendable number to imagine

He made a hypothesis that he quickly negated. The Big Bang “happened”because as we look out, objects a further away because red shift. The original point was that the universe is infinity years old. This statement cannot be rejected because our eyes(light) dims at a certain point in “space time.” Beyond that, we cannot make estimations about where the beginning is, because it will take infinitely long time to locate the “center.” With large gravitational fields caused by black holes, light will not bind around it, it will get absorbed by it as all light is bent to a point. With respect to that concept, the universe is forever.

A physicist once used an analogy to explain the expansion of the universe. He compared it to baking a cake with grapes inside. As the cake expands while it bakes, the grapes themselves don’t move, but the distance between them increases. Similarly, as the universe expands, galaxies remain in place, but the space between them grows

I'm currently reading "A Brief History of Time" and it addresses this apparent conundrum. Thank you for confirmation. 😊

Something crazier is that due to this, no night sky is ever the same one.
