** GET THE GEAR ON AMAZON**

In this video we'll look at the virtual pacer feature on the garmin forerunner 10. This is a handy tool when you are running by yourself and want to have some feedback whether or not you are ahead or behind a specific pace.

To turn on this feature, enter the RUN OPTIONS | VIRTUAL PACER | TURN ON.

The first time entering this, you will need to specify the pace, once done the next time you go for a run you will see a new screen that simply highlights if you are AHEAD or BEHIND pace. You will also see how many seconds the difference is.

To turn off, simply return to the to the same location in the menu and select TURN OFF.

I just got mine going to read the manual a little but it looks fairly easy. I needed pretty basic features, pace time distance it should be a great first gps watch thanks good vid!

yes, I think you are correct with that assessment, I also prefer it to show based on laps instead of overall activity.

I haven't thoroughly tested it yet, but I believe that the virtual pacer on this model bases your being on or off pace accorrding to total distance/total time, which I have beef with. So, if you felt like running a mile a little faster, then for the rest of your run you will be "ahead" of pace. It should base it on some kind of "most recent interval" such as your most recent 200m, 400m, 800m, or something like that.

Also what seems to happen on mine, is if I get ahead or behind, and STAY there, it stops giving me alerts. It's like it just gives up on me. From my previous comment I think both things are useful (most recent interval pace and overall pace), it should have both combined or separate. And experienced runners can figure things out in their head anyway. But, it shouldn't stop giving me the alerts no matter what...that's what it's there for.

The alerts are only during 10 min & 1 min intervals (run & walk)

As I recall, it will alert you if you pass or get passed.

So I know how to set it up and I was looking to get a tool to keep me running at a specific pace but... I dont understand what min/sec is supposed to mean. I thought it will let me set km/h.

it's pretty simple device to use.

I know this is an older post but my watch is about 2 years old. Will it alert me every minute if I am running too slow?
