2019 Chevrolet Blazer | MotorWeek Road Test

With so many new crossover utilities on the market, trying to make one stand out from another usually comes down to the details. But rather than focus on extra all-weather ruggedness, or cavernous cargo hauling, Chevrolet’s all-new midsize Blazer adds something no other brand can. The sportiness of a Camaro. So, let’s see if that blazes a new trail worth following.

Here's an idea: revamp the 5.3L small block, and all wheel drive, to make a Blazer SS..

Today I learned that MotorWeek is still a thing, with John Davis still hosting it! Awesome!

This heap of plastic should increase the value of the K5 Blazer!

It's not the point of the K5 blazer, it's more of the point of the S10 blazer which my parents had when it first came out in 1982, You people didn't forget about the S10 did you, think of it as a modern S10 Blazer, some things don't change

"...The Blazer is the family vehicle that actually appeals to the whole family, and for that reason it upsets the Honda(Passport)on its home court."

I think the Motor Trend staff was weeping when they wrote that!

Started with the big C-10 Blazer based upon the C10 pickup, then the S10 Blazer (But ugly), the the Trail Blazer and finally the new 19. Thoughts?

::Sighs:: I hate all these suvs. I could never own a GM the rotary dial at 2:52 is wobbly it would drive me absolutely nuts this is a brand new car it shouldn’t wobble, the door dinger is straight out of the early 2000 GM parts bin, hated it then hate it now. I hate how when you start it up the gauges do the swoop which is fine but GM fuc*ed it up by making it move like its running on a dying battery, waaaayy too slow. Also why does the fuel gauge/temp gauge sweep thats just horrible. And am I the only one who hates the look of the chevy emblem, it just makes the whole front end looks cheap with that gaudy yellow paint and non symmetrical emblem, hate it.

This thing is a joke to put a Blazer badge on.

The Ford Edge ST is a full second quicker to 60mph, Chevy needs to invest more money into their V6 engines if they want to compete with Ford’s 2.7V6, 3.5V6 and 3.0V6 Ecoboosts.. This 3.6 is a bit underpowered by today’s standards considering it’s a top trim engine in some platforms.

I've been a Chevy guy my whole life until now.
Chevy is a joke !! I I am embarrassed for them
WHAT HAPPENED? Their designs all suck and all their vehicles are ugly!!!
Are used to dream of driving a new Chevy right now if given the keys to a brand new Chevrolet I would hand them back and say no thanks. Sad.

A couple of years ago they shrank the equinox wheelbase, this blazer is built on the old chassis at 112 inch wheelbase

I have been hearing that the build quality is very poor on this vehicle.

If they had named this thing ANYTHING else, it would have been a huge hit. Sadly, the product marketing execs at Chevrolet failed this vehicle by wasting the Blazer nameplate on this and I think it really turns off a ton of potential buyers.

I don’t understand why the Camaro chassis can’t be used and modified for suv application.

It has every styling cliche possible on today's cars, including the cavernous grille, fake exhaust posts, small greenhouse, tiny headlights and tires that look like a thin film of rubber on an all metal wheel. The real issue other than the poor visibility is going to be the lack of reliability of this setup, especially the dual clutch transmission with the 3.6 liter engine.
