Trashy seems like a really harsh way to describe what you mean here. I would think more along the lines of 'Guilty Pleasure Reads.' Or even 'Quick' and 'Light books. As a writer myself, it would really offend me if someone liked my books, but called them trashy. Even the most cliche, light read most likely took the authors blood, sweat, and tears to even get that book into your hands. Just because a book is not what you would see as deep or intellectually stimulating doesn't mean that it's that way for someone else. Art is subjective. While I think we are all entitled to our artistic preferences and opinions, I feel that one who truly loves the written word could see even a book they didn't like is it's self a work of art to be appreciated.
