Even after Claude takes revenge, all he feels is emptiness and extreme sadness. But then he meets Diana, his world lights up. She pulls him out of depression and promised him she would NEVER leave him. And what happens then? The ONLY sunshine he got in his life dies. Y'all would be crying a river if the story was from Claude's perspective in the first place bc that's just a very tragic love story. He goes crazy when she dies and totally depressed. He was in so much pain that he cursed himself, even when knowing the consequences. He just didn't want to be in so much pain. Even when he massacred everyone when he went crazy with anger and grief, he didn't kill Athy, the curse wasn't cast properly then. In the first life, by the time she met Claude, it was pretty late, the curse was already casted completely. In this lifetime, when she met Claude, he was still grieving for Diana and was super depressed in both lives (Him wearing those traditional, skin showing dress is the sign). When he met her, he started to care for her since curse was still not completely effective, and it was broken bc Claude does love this child. And we all know that he decides to give the world to her afterwards. They open up completely to each other only around the last chapters but it was still pretty warm, their bond. I hope to see Athy telling about her past life to Claude so that he can realise how he unintentionally out her through so much too.

Tbh people are like wow claud is such a great dad… no abandoned athy and killed her in her first life and attempted to do that in the second, like at least Regis from father I don’t want this marriage has an excuse because he couldn’t let people see she was his weakness but Claude is just horrible
