The 852 is a re-flow station (re-work) for re-soldering smd chips already in place. The 852a is the de-soldering station, which is why the 852 don't come with a vacuum hose and vacuum tool like the 852a. Also the 852 is not designed to remove smd chips, to use it for this reason will produce unwanted/undesired results. To low of heat (even at max) and to low of air-flow (even at max) with the 852 to de-solder smd chips.
