Ministers are weighing up whether the remaining coronavirus lockdown restrictions will be lifted on June 21 as planned.
Reports suggest the final step in the Government’s road map could be delayed by two weeks.
Ministers were given a “downbeat” briefing on the latest data on Monday by chief medical officer Chris Whitty and chief scientific adviser Sir Patrick Vallance, according to The Times.
It comes as over-25s in England are to be offered a first dose of a coronavirus vaccine six months after the first jab was administered in the UK, as the NHS hailed reaching the “home straight” of the biggest vaccination programme in its history.

Thousands of UK tourists last night scrambled to leave Portugal before new coronavirus quarantine rules came into force.
Thirty-nine flights were scheduled to depart from Faro Airport in the Algarve for the UK yesterday, nearly double the usual total.
The final departure of the day was a Wizz Air flight due to land at Doncaster Sheffield Airport at 2.05am this morning.
Travellers needed to arrive in the UK before 4am before required to self-isolate at home for 10 days.

Boris Johnson will come under renewed pressure to reverse a £4 billion cut to Britain’s overseas aid budget amid widespread anger among some Tory MPs.
Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle yesterday ruled an attempt to amend unrelated legislation to force the Government to reinstate its commitment to spend 0.7% of national income on aid was out of order.
However MPs did secure a three-hour emergency debate today in which Tory critics – including former prime minister Theresa May – are expected to to pile on pressure ahead of this week’s G7 summit in Cornwall.
Sir Lindsay also made clear that he expected ministers to give MPs a chance to have an “effective” vote on the decision to suspend the 0.7% commitment – which is enshrined in legislation.

A man charged with murdering PCSO Julia James is today expected to appear in court.
Callum Wheeler, 21, from Aylesham, is accused of inflicting serious head injuries on her while she was out walking her dog.
Ms James, 53, was found dead in Akholt Wood, close to her home in Snowdown, Kent, on April 27, with her Jack Russell dog, Toby, by her side.
The police community support officer was described as “fiercely loyal” by her family and her death led to an outpouring of grief in the local community.

And finally…
Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague has said it “scares her” that young girls resort to cosmetic treatments - adding she worries for her future children about how they will cope with the pressure to look good.
The 22-year-old reality television star, who recently made headlines for spending almost £6,000 removing fillers she had in her face, said she worries about how young girls are when they consider altering their appearance.
The reality star also spoke about how insecurities lead her to have cosmetic treatments - adding said she decided to remove her fillers after not recognising herself in the mirror.

They planned this from the beginning. If everyone though it was going to end on the 21st you need to wake up realise they are doing this on purpose.

"could be" is new-speak for "absolutely will be". You need to use double think.

The anniversary of D. Day just passed. Brave men gave their lives for liberty, free speech, democracy etc. Now, I look around and see nothing but piss poor pathetic excuses for 'men'. The mask wearing, keep your distance 'male variant'. Those brave souls of yesterday would be grieving in their graves..😔

World covid cases down by -65% since 29th April. World deaths down by -50% since April 29th. India cases down by -79% in 4 weeks, deaths down by -50%. World weekly cases down by -16% and deaths down by -11%. Weekly recovering patients numbers are at 1, 100, 000 more than new cases, and those in a serious condition make up only 0.7%.

Accept the Lord Jesus Christ as he is the lam and is the hadjl, the gospel of your salvation. Not any religion can save you. We were all deceived by Satan and his devisions many people worship false Gods, follow false doctrine, have idols, worship deities and practise many religions.
Jesus christ is not a religion and hated religion, as it is false. Catholics and al other nominations, Buddhist, Hinduism, New Age are all manmade beliefs based on each cultures and holy scriptures. There is only one that can save, as he rose from the dead, so we can defeat it also.  The only prophet and the son of men of the living God written about in the KJV Holy Bible.
The God of Israel. The God of all creation, The Word that was made flesh in Jesus Christ.
Amen.

Only born again Christians are on the path of salvation. It's you in Christ and Christ in you. By doing the will of God the father with help from the Holy spirit. Formost believing that he is the only anointed able to forgive sins, not the pope or bishop. They honour Mary and Saints over Jesus Christ, Emanuel, Son of Man, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, and Lord of Lords our true saviour. Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Believe in the finished work on the cross. Heal the sick and cast devils out. Do good works, but abide in his sabbath rest, as he abides with the spirit in you. 24/7.
Have your mind renewed and do what Jesus says you should do.
Amen.
There is only one father and that is in heaven. We honour, Father son and Holy Spirit.
Amen.
I recommend, asking father God for truth and revelation and insight for a awakening.
Amen
keep up with the good work for the kingdom of God

Praise the Lord Jesus Christ and his church and ministries, with regards to his saints, angels and prophets of righteousness.  Bless Gods kingdom and his Holy spirit.  Bless all the children on the earth, and the young, old and those with infirmities, and those suffering bondage, hunger, famine, war and imprisonment.
I pray for the lost, all back sliders, and all The nations and its leaders. I pray for all my brothers and sisters in the faith, all unbelievers and sinners.  I pray for my kids, family, extended family, friends neighbour's, enemies  and those of Christ.
Hallelujah praise his mighty name and bless those that read this. Jesus loves you all. Amen. X

For those ready to criticise Professor Chris Whitty I would say this, Professor Chris Whitty is one of the most eminent scientists in the world. His track record on bird flu and SARS-MERS is literally without parallel. Professor Chris Whitty is very eminent. Oh, I think I have said that already.
