In the Philippines, our shaved ice dessert is called "Halo-halo" which translates to "mix-mix." 😅 I guess we're psychopaths.

The first time I heard patbingsu mentioned was actually in a novel, and I've been wanting to try it ever since! I didn't realize it would be ENORMOUS 😊 and covered with a bunch of toppings like yours -- I really just thought it was shaved ice with just the condensed milk and red bean paste. Yours looked even more amazing than what I was imagining!

In india, shaved ice tends to be clumped on a stick and you have a choice of flavoured syrups to dip it into, , the classic is "kala khatta" which is like a sweet and sour berry flavour topped with pink salt for a tang <33

In the 90's, my mom would send me outside with a metal bowl and a serving spoon, so I could take the top two inches of snow off the car to make Halo Halo in the dead of winter. It was SO good!

Im from the US but my family is Mexican and our shaved ice is raspados. They come in lots of flavors with street vendors usually carrying around flavors for strawberry, vanilla, bubblegum and lime or pineapple but there’s shops dedicated to raspados or other antojitos (Mexican snack dishes) and the most famous is probably the diablito (little Devil) which is a spicy sweet and sour shaved ice that combines flavors of chamoy, tamarind and chili flakes

Piraguas! As a kid there was a lady in my grandma’s neighborhood who made them and I got in trouble for sneaking off to go buy one lol. They also remind me of being on the beach in PR. I miss it there!

Exo's Xiumin recently made a Patbingsu video, and I think the one he made definitely fits the Psycho category😂

In Guatemala we call our shaved ice snacks 'granizadas' they can be both sweet or savory!

My fave is a michelada granizada with v8 juice, lime, pepita (grounded squash seeds), toasted corn, chilli flakes and tortrix (a type of guatemalan corn based chips) on top. The absolute best on warm summer day ❤

In Pakistan we call it gola ganda, its served either clumped on a stick or just in a cup drenched in different flavoured syrups and then optionally topped with a drizzle of condensed milk 🤤✨️

For us (east) Malaysians, it's ABC (Air Batu Campur, essentially mixed ice beverage)

We use the same kind of ice shaver like you but ours were hand cranked.. ours use rose cordial/syrup (Im p sure its the same syrup /similar as rooh-afza for my desi friends) mixed with evaporated and condensed milk.. and then we have some more evaporated/condences milk on top and then mix with grass jelly, some cendol dough, some red beans etc..

But we also eat cendol! Which is a pandan based shaved ice with coconut milk, sometimes with durians / sticky rice, cendol dough and gula melaka (a type of local rock sugar) personally much prefer cendol over ABC cause I dislike jellies and yea, it's so nice and sweet and refreshing.

I grew up eating this at the local Korean spot, I am Mexican but grew up around Koreans and they would serve this with mango and strawberry and condensed milk. I also would eat Italian ice from Anaheim and Mexican shaved ice from the vendors around my grandmothers house. My childhood wasn’t always easy but I remember the treats I would enjoy eating

i grew up with new orleans style shaved ice, also called snoballs! they actually have a super rich and interesting history. new orleans is a port city like new york, so it's a huge melting pot! some of the very first established filipino and korean communities were formed here, and their style of shaved ice as well as hawaiian imports all mixed together and caused a huge craze for shaved ice! we have special made machines that shave diwn huge blocks of ice, and flavored syrups are added. usually only one at a time, but i've seen up to 6 flavors on one cone! it's often topped with sweetened condensed milk, and sometimes vanilla ice cream. there's a plethora of things you CAN top it with, but those are the most common. the ones with ice cream are called "stuffed" snoballs :D

I’m Dominican and our shaved ice dessert was helado de coco. It’s like a shaved coconut milk and flavored with fruits.
