It's like trying to get whisky from a bottle of wine.
Him and Bernie were absolute geniuses.

Well, we've all been begging for "Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Bleeding, " so feel free to react to that one next!

Can you go wrong with Sir Elton John? I was listening to some of my favorite tracks earlier today. “Madman Across the Water” and “Tiny Dancer” were blasting in my AirPods. Thanks for keeping things going. With all the sadness and problems in the world, you guys make us smile every day.

Memories! When I was 14 in 1972, my sister gave me "Honky Chateau" for Christmas. My whole family loved the album, and we played it over and over all day long. My dad loved "Rocket Man" and I loved "Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters." As kids, we had a $5 limit on gifts so the album couldn't have cost very much, but what a great gift! I'm calling my sister tomorrow and thanking her...again.

Glad that you both enjoyed Sir Elton John's "Honkey Cat." This man has endless talent and has proven it for many, many years!

Empty Garden, Island Girl, Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word and Philadelphia Freedom. All great EJ songs that deserve a reaction

"MAD MAN ACROSS THE WATER" and "FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND / LOVE LIES BLEEDING" are the next stops on the ELTON JOHN freeway of amazing tunes. Cheers!

I'm a metalhead through and through, but I love me some '70's Elton John

For an entire generation, Elton John is our Beethoven, our Bach, our Strauss.

Elton put down this Ragtime beat and I’ve loved it ever since. He’s a master and has just produced SO MUCH material.

Another surprising side of Elton is his incredible cover of the Beatles "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" with John Lennon singing backups. It was another #1 smash for Sir Elton.

There’s so much more 70’s Elton to react to! Do “Blues For Baby and Me” and “Have Mercy On The Criminal”

"Honky Cat" is the first track on the Honky Chateau album. The honky chateau was a chateau in France where this album was recorded. I think it was 1972. This is the album that has "Rocket Man" on it.

Thanks to you two for the great reaction to some funky EJ! You absolutely must do "Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding"! It is quite a departure from anything else he has done, in the very best way. "Madman Across the Water" is another great one to get to!!

This the album that gave us Rocket Man. The title "Honky Chateau" stems from the fact the album was recorded in an actual French chateau that Elton rented and moved the band into until the album was in the can. Great Elton album that captures him at the height of his powers.

Don't shoot me I'm only the piano player. From 1973 is a great album too. Love your channel.

This is early Elton John. Released in January 1972.
I’ve seen Elton John in concert at least 5 times. You guys mentioned Billy Joel. Probably some of the greatest concert experiences I’ve ever had are the two times I saw Elton and Billy in concert together. They would start the concert on stage together, then they each played an individual set, then they finished the concert on stage together again. The first time I saw them during Elton’s set he did two Billy songs, then during Billy’s set he did two Elton songs. It was so cool.

It's such a fantastic arrangement. Although this time through anyway, I literally could not take my mind off of the bass guitar line. That was just percolating like crazy. So funky.
