Essences are a popular skincare product found in Korean skincare routines. But what are they? Well, they're somewhere between a toner and a serum. I break them down for you and share some that I've been trying lately in this video. Plus, I explain how to do the "7 Skin Method" - a technique to help build moisture in your skin.

Great video! I love that Caudalie essence you mentioned but really love Amore Pacific Vintage Single Extract Essence, sk-II and Tatcha. I layer like 10 of them. Lol Essenses have really changed my skin. I also have very oily, acne prone skin and they work wonders for my skin type.

Do not layer acid the 7-skin method is meant to be used for humectants, if you layer acid toners like the Caudalie glycolic you can seriously over-exfoliate!

I use the Korean essences. 2 different ones in summer and up to 4 different ones in the winter! It is a lifesaver. I do the 10 step. Sometimes more in the winter. My skin just glows! And stays moisturized.

SK-II’s essence is unbelievable, but my absolute favorite (believe it or not), is MAC Lightful C Softening Lotion. AMAZINGLY hydrating, full of Vitamin C and has done wonders for brightening and evening my skin.

I am obsessed with essences! I use a first treatment essence first and after my toner I use a thicker more emoliant essence. It has made a huge impact on my skin. My favorites so far are the tatcha essence, olivarrier, the secret key first treatment essence and the attoclassic origin soothing essence.

My go to essence right now is super cheap but super effective. It's the Hadalabo premium essence. You can put in a spray bottle and mix with with mineral water and boom! It's a facial mist!

I use after cleansing, toner, essence, serum, moisturizer for face+eyes and facial oil!
I like Caudalie essence but i use it only in the morning because of AHA, in the night i use vitamin C booster and what i know is AHA+Vitamin C products if you use them at the same time can irritate your skin, right?

I love the 7 skin method! You can definitely use a toner as well- I love using toners from Be The Skin and layering them 4x. For me that’s all I need. If any of you are new to the skin layering method just make sure that the products you layer with don’t contain alcohol or actives like AHA/BHA that can over irritate your skin!

Essence is everything!!! I use a toner from By Terry and follow that with my favorite May Coop essence from Korea!! I need to do the 7 layer step!! It totally makes sense!!
