My Grandmother was Johnny’s cousin. I wish I’d gotten the voice in my genes but no such luck there. It’s clear it landed elsewhere.

I love how he has his own sound but you still hear his grandfather at the same time which is astonishing

Shooter Jennings, Thomas Gabriel, and Lukas Nelson should play together as the recarnation of Highwaymen

My mom loved this song the most. I asked the cemetery workers to play on the loudspeaker while I sent her off to the next world. In small willage in Eastern Europe, most of the people who came with me heard it for the first time and cried like never before. They didn't understand a word. Afterwards, a woman timidly asked me who was singing it. I gave them the link. Later I heard that they were looking for someone to translate from English. When I heard your voice, which is so familiar, you brought back my memories. Thank you.

I love that Johnny is still singing through his grandson ❤

Hurt is a confessional song. You can see the points of pain when singing certain lyrics. It's most hurtful when people go away.

I am 68 and was raised on Johnny Cash music by my mom. This is a young Johnny Cash sound that will age like fine wine.

You sound so much like your grandfather. This is so crazy. His voice was truly passed onto you man. You have the bass, the raspy tone, the bite in your voice. He is singing through you tenfold

I think the most inspirational part about Johnny's life that I wish I could have was someone he loved like June

I'm only 30 years old, but I grew up with your grandfather's music. I remember how bad I wanted to meet him when I was a child, then I found out he had passed away and I just cried. First song of his I ever heard was Folsom Prison Blues and I remember jumping on the couch playing the song over and over again. You sound so much like your grandpa, and I envy you for that. He is the reason I am a musician today. Thank you, Thomas.

I remember the first time I heard this song for the first time by your grandfather. I'm 54 years old and when I was younger, I used to burn myself. At the time I didn't know why, only that it made me feel better. I've since gotten older and went through counseling, and found out why.

The first time I heard your grandfather sing the first verse, I broke down. It was my life. You sir, gave me chills! You received your families talent. .

Sorry for the long comment, but thank you for sharing your amazing gift with the world.

This is like hearing your grandfather play it. If I (God forbid) should die early and you're in Norway at the time, you can perform in my funeral ❤
