Jim did what none of my teachers could ever do and that was to inspire to read and write

Shake dreams from your hair
My pretty child, my sweet one.
Choose the day and choose the sign of your day
The day's divinity
First thing you see.

A vast radiant beach in a cool jeweled moon
Couples naked race down by it's quiet side
And we laugh like soft, mad children
Smug in the wooly cotton brains of infancy
The music and voices are all around us.
Choose they croon the Ancient Ones
The time has come again
Choose now, they croon
Beneath the moon
Beside an ancient lake
Enter again the sweet forest
Enter the hot dream
Come with us
Everything is broken up and dances.

This is my ‘go-to’ - song when I am experiencing insomnia. And it calms me down

Jim Morrison was, first and foremost, a superb poet.

and I will give you love unfolding.''

Awake. Shake dreams from your hair my pretty child, my sweet one. Choose the day and choose the sign of the day, the day's divinity. First thing you see; a vast, radiant beach and cooled, jewelled moon. Couples, naked, race down by its quiet side. And we laugh like soft, mad children, smug, in the wooly cotton brims of infancy. The music and voices are all around us. Choose the croon, the Ancient Ones, the time has come again. Choose now, they croon, beneath the moon, beside the ancient lake. Enter again the sweet forest. Enter the hot dream, come with us. Everything is broken up and dances. Indians, scattered, on dawn's highway, bleeding. Ghosts crowd the child's fragile, eggshell mind.

The bass playing on this is exquisite (Jerry Scheff), as is everything else....

First time I heard this album/cd was ‘86. We were tripping balls and dancing in Golden Gate Park. Stoned immaculate indeed…This never gets old.

this is an album I play when I want to seek peace, alone, in my own world.
the Doors did a fine job putting this together. I think Jim would have been pleased.

"Indians scattered on dawn's highway bleeding. Ghosts crowd the child's fragile eggshell mind."
When Jim was about 4, he and his family were driving in New Mexico and saw some Indians who had been in a wreck. Jim later said one of the Indians died and his soul went into him.

JIM WAS AN ARTIST/ FREE SPIRIT THAT WAS WAY AHEAD OF HIS TIME. HE NEVER TRULY RECEIVED THE CREDIT FOR HIS
GENIUS WHILE HE WAS ALIVE. SAD HE WAS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!

People are not asleep they just live in fear, fear of losing what they bought into so consequently they cannot see outside the box. and if they did take a glimpse outside the box they quickly retreat into their familiar and comfortable cocoon in which they created. people have much more fear of living.
