Where We're Running Our Wiring/Conduit - CATAMARAN BUILD (MJ Sailing - Ep 246)

Remember at the end of last week's episode when I said that big changes were coming? Well in this week's episode, you get to see the beginning of them!

Having put in the second daggerboard case and fuel tank off camera (since there's really no need to see it twice), we get to start building the furniture out in each hull.

On starboard side that means our inboard hanging locker, which the back of, is neighboring the nav station up on the bridge deck. We have some changes in mind for this area, and Matt highlights what they are as he measures and places in the floor of the nav station.

Over on port side, since the daggerboard case is in, that means we get to bond in the guest shower. Getting the water to flow toward the drain is our most important concern when using our thickened resin to permanently put it down....but in the excitement of it all, I may have left a little trinket forever stuck under the sole in there. : 0

We hope you enjoy!! :)

Much love from Annapolis!

Matt lifting his foot over the hose while falling at the beginning was impressive.

"Designed for slouching!" Hah! I love it Matt. You guys are no slouch. Get this thing together so when we come and visit you we won't get full of glass. Cheers! Keep up the great work.

It would drive me crazy to know that there is a piece of wood slipping around under the shower. Fun to watch the process!

Jess & Matt -
I absolutely love how you edit in video of the finished product when you are working on a part and describing what you are doing. I know it takes more editing work to do that, so I thought I'd pass along my appreciation.

So fun watching more and more get permanently attached in final locations!

The thought of that wedge rattling around forever HURTS ME!
At 22:08, I think I saw a way that Jess could contort herself under the shower pan to go get to the wedge! LOL

This is such an insane undertaking. Yet you guys make it appear like you’re putting together a piece of IKEA furniture. So impressive guys!

She`s really starting to take shape now. With all the filling and fairing that Jess has been doing, it will really make the paint finish look stunning. You may need sunglasses to protect your eyes from the shine? 😂.

I pump my shower drain soapy fresh water into a holding tank which when full overflows to a sump with a bilge pump to take it overboard through a siphon breaker. This reclaimed shower water I use to flush the marine heads--I add a little holding tank sterilant into the shower drain pre-shower to prevent the putrification of this shower water. Not using sea water in the heads solves a few problems with lime build up. The flushing tank need only be about fifty litres capacity for two people--marine heads do not use very much flushing water. More people aboard--maybe one hundred litres would do it. One can always use extra sea water if one runs out occasionally, but we never did.

Love watching the build and often wondered if this project is what you thought or bigger than expected. Insane amount of work.

When you are sanding And you wanna get a good transition try some guide coat either black primer or a black powder from 3M.
It will help you out to find your high & low spot.
