WNBA players were subject to racist abuse online and in person in the build-up to and during Indiana Fever's and Connecticut Sun's second game of the series.

It followed a foul by Connecticut Sun's DiJonai Carrington on Caitlin Clark in game one that left the Indiana Fever star with a black eye. Although both players said the injury was unintentional, Carrington shared an email on social media which referred to her by a racist slur and threatened her with sexual violence. The Connecticut Sun forward Alyssa Thomas said: 'I think in my 11-year career, I've never experienced the racial comments [like those] from the Indiana Fever fanbase.' The Connecticut Sun coach Stephanie White said it was 'unacceptable' while the Indiana Fever coach Christie Sides added: 'It is just not acceptable when it gets personal'.

No condemnation of the players' hate as manifested in 6 or 7 flagrant fouls committed on CC??

Thomas and Carrington are both dirty players. Thomas threw her whole shoulder into CC and Carrington intentionally poked CC in the eye. Perhaps stop the dirty play and racial attacks may cease or at least be condemned by most people.

Shout out to Alyssa Thomas and Dijonai Carrington for calling this stuff out.

It is not racial comments, it are your actions and abuse toward a player who out classes you! Quit trying to hurt her and just play ball.

Having a press conference so you can whine about trolls on social media is exactly how you make trolls on social media the story. The level of play issnt there so we gotta have drama... go practice some layups

In the post game press interview, C.Clark has a mike right in front of her to speak on the issue and her personal view on

No one should be subjected to racial slurs, but Aylssa making comme nts about fans is ironic. She is the biggest bully in the league.
She should have called out all fans. Her caoch did a better job of this than she did

What the W did to CC is the same as the trolls are doing to the W. The W can dish it out, but can’t take it 😂

First off Angel Reese started it all when she attacked Caitlyn Clark with her racist remarks on her. If anyone should be suspended it should Be Angel Reese and I would suspend her indefinitely from the WNBA.

Caitlin Clark has more class in her pinkie finger, than the WNBA as a whole.😂😂😂
