I think that he's dropping some hints here. It still goes on, whether you believe in the conspiracies about literal human sacrifices performed by members of "the elite" (the ruling class) or whether you consider the constant wars to be forms of human sacrifice, we are still incredibly brutal and violent either way. Carlin was a genius. He was too smart to go into politics because he knew that the whole system was a con job, and so he educated us through his comedy.

People in some countries actually still sacrifice people. They do get arrested for murder as ritual sacrifice is illegal in most places but yeah, it still happens

All these cases were based on the accounts if missionaries whose sole aim was to vilify native cultures so as to JUSTIFY their mass annihilation by Europeans. The truth may be far from such accounts. The cruelty and dehumanising barbarity of Christianity has no equal in the world.
