Charlottesville PHWFF- Gartside Gurgler

On this week's livestream, Jeff will be teaching us how to tie.... The Gartside Gurgler, aka the Gurgler. This is yet another venerable guide fly that is just plain deadly for anything that will hit topwater.

For this fly you will need:
Hook: Saltwater hook or heavy freshwater hook size 2-2/0
Thread: heavy 210 or 3/0 thread color of your choice.
Tail: sparse bucktail or maraboo. A couple of strands of flash
Body: 2mm craft foam cut about a half an inch wide maybe a bit less depending on hook size.
(Optional) Body: strung saddle hackle, estaz, spun flashaboo
