At least six men were arrested on Sunday in connection to an on-going investigation of U.S. residents traveling to Syria to support the Islamic State.

A Somali woman said FBI agents arrived at her house around noon and arrested one of her sons at the house. The other was arrested in San Diego.

About a dozen FBI agents and police officers searched her Minneapolis home and confiscated a tablet computer belonging to her son.

Another woman said her son was arrested in Minneapolis at around 10 a.m. Sunday. FBI Special Agent Kyle Loven said four people were arrested in Minneapolis and two people in San Diego.

Relatives of the men arrested said they didn't know why their sons had been detained. Authorities said there is no threat to public safety.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office and the FBI planned a news conference on Monday to announce details.
