What’s up guys and gals, I’m Kage848. I love to make videos for Youtube, mostly early access survival games like 7 Days to Die, Empyrion, Raft, Mist Survival, The Forest, and more! I also dabble in City Builders and strategy games like Civilization 5, Civilization 6, Dawn of Man, Stonehearth, Factorio and Rim World. I do at least two videos everyday of mainly tutorials, let’s plays and general gameplay footage. Thanks for watching my videos.

This Early Access game is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to play this game in its current state, then you should wait to see if the game progresses further in development.

You need to upgrade your raft. The next upgrade gives you a 100 storage chest, and that unlocks the canoe that has a 200-unit storage chest. The build Docks, they act as a fast travel site, and you can place them around the island near important resource nodes... Look for the obsidian nodes and harvest them ASAP, they take 60 in-game days to refresh.

The date palm juice collector gives 6 food and 7 water per drink if you have both Hunger Control 1 and Thirst Control 1. It is the ultimate survival food to carry with you when traveling and it never spoils.

Kage, you had asked how did we handle getting logs for building and other stuff. What I found works best is upgrade your starter raft to a Solid Raft. The solid raft will give you a chest that has 100 weight protected storage and also a log storage bin that works just like the log cart. You can put up to 6 logs on it. I then sail out to the various islands and cut down everything but coconut trees. The other thing you could do is carry the supplies needed to build a carpenter bench on the small islands, cut down the trees make what you need and then store it on the chest and sail back to base. As for combing your dock and house, I will place the dock first, then place the foundation pieces back to shore. I will then build x # of foundations to the left and right of the pier keeping that as the center spot. Hope these ideas help.

This episode was paticularly great for me. I loved hearing your inner dialogue while you were building. You encountered the exact same problems that I always have when building. Games today only seem to want you to build a square box, and the build pieces available tend to prove that. Hehe. The fence on the loft and the middle pillars is just 100% so accurate. Haha. Great, cozy "Road House" still. Huehue. Great job!

Put the stairs down first. Then squeeze the lower, water foundations close to the stairs

i just learned the other night you can get the chests closer if you place it and put something in it (the lid closes allowing a chest cloaer to it)

You built another food dryer, and was talking about building yet another one. When you go into a crafter-unit (be it food dryer, workbench etc.) look at the tabs at the top; One says "Upgrade". When you upgrade an existing unit you only have to use the amount of resources that differs from the previous "level" of the unit.

Anywho; Love the series! Keep 'em coming ^^

Damn, Kage! Just 7 videos into the Let's Play, and you've got a 2 story (OK, 1 and a sleeping loft...) house. 😄

structural integrity is the numbers appear on screen while holding that hammer, when they hit 0 cant build just like if it hits red for being blocked. pillars yes also been requested to change, its why out of the 2 mods for the game i made unrestricted placement cause visually wanted to adjust building and placements.

The loft is a good idea. I'm trying with a strip down the middle with the storage chests along it because I can look up and access the chests. If you get the bamboo and the cattails you can make a flask that holds 15 liquid, rather than the 10 in the coconut flasks. Also you find the un-fired pot in the mountains it isnt difficult to then build a kiln and use the fired pot to then upgrade your fireplace so you can boil saltwater for salt to then dry meat and fish.

So the building in this game I agree is very easy, but you kinda make it harder than it is. When holding the hammer, just press middle mouse button to bring up the building menu :). Also the 3 times upgraded things look expensive, but if you already have built 1 or 2 upgrades, look 'inside' it under 'upgrade', it will show what you need for the next upgrade - and then not so expensive! :) Thx for the videos

11:45 Build the roof piece at a lower level then move it up there to avoid having to make a ladder or jump off of your workbench.

The better beds may not have the word "bed" in their names. The sleeping bag is pretty great and fully mobile. The hut made of leaves is also a better "bed" and in one of my games I just built one inside my base for sleeping.

I can say for sure that the canoe and catamaran fit in the inlet your base is built on. Beyond that I'm not sure.

Once you get the first point in Thirst palm juice becomes really good.

Yup you can upgrade the walls after you have placed them. It requires the exact same resources to build a basic wall and then upgrade it as it does to build an upgraded wall from scratch.

it takes a bit of faffing around, but you can put stairs down from your deck and place a water foundation close to the bottom of the stairs. they dont actually connect but it works

This game needs to steal some of the storage ideas found in Valhiem.

maybe try sailing a little bit with your raft so that you are next to your balcony and then try snapping stairs? snapping mechanic is not the best but the game is awesome. have fun!

Hahaha I had the same idea to go down the mountainside when I was at that stage. I also just got a minor cut.
