I'm back! On top of being sick I threw my back out so creating content had to take a back seat to getting better. And I will add that my awesome internet took about 30 hours to upload this video... sadface.

I accidently said Rigid Ink teamed up with MakerBox. That was wrong! It was Printed Solid, sorry!!

i used a twist tie to make a loop horizontally and tighten it up around the top 1/3 of the silicone sock to keep it from sliding down and ruining the print. It worked great after that .

Just wrap your heat block in silicone self amalgamating tape (Xtreme tape) and get rid of the silly boots. Also consider coroplast for your enclosure as opposed to the foam board. Much more durable, and just as light. Although a bit more expensive.

Maybe you can resell the corner brackets you don't need

i have the same problem with the sock. in order to keep it on cleanly, i took some thin magnet wire and just wrapped it around the upper section of the sock. since then, my sock has stayed on without issue. PM me if you need a picture to see what I did.

I think the socks are for the reg hot block not the volcano block.

It will cause corruption to the filesystem (and potentially drastically reduces the lifespan of your SDcard) if you forgot to shutdown the Raspbie properly prior shutting down the power supply. I thought about doing the same thing which i planned to make a video as well. There are ways to do it, like freezing the filesystem so that Raspi will only read from the filesystem to prevent incomplete write (filesystem corruption) when powering down improperly. However, there are really a lot of inconveniences to have Raspbi powering down even if you freeze the filesystem. It takes like 30~60 seconds to boot up depending on your setup and SDcard speed, you can't save anything or make changes while the filesystem is frozen.

Hey Shane, welcome back! Great video.

You said you would link the delta calibration guide that you were using?

You promise allot, review on this, build vlog on that.
Know you limits and don't promise it all.

Do you have the latest revision of the E3D V6 with the cartridge thermistor? The socks aren't compatible with the older crimp on wire thermistors.

do you think PLA is enough for a PSU? (won't it get soft with the heat)

re the USB vs SD. not to start a flame war here. but tech2cs video is not entirely accurate. serial bus communication carries by os and chipset in the printers control board and the USB chipset on the PC motherboard. baud rate is also an important factor as well as the buffer value set in the printers FW. I've been printing the last 9mo or so of octoprint, repetier server, or PC running various control software's with no issues in speeds exceeding 100 mm/s. there is some truth that at some point the serial buffer will get overloaded and the fw will slow down to catch-up and therefore the host slows down as well. in the past there's also been issues with the way octoprint handles repetier fw's ack returns. so anyhow, do your own testing for yourself on this one.
