It is refreshing to have a technical representative from the manufacturer that is focussed on imparting accurate technical details instead of just spewing marketing BS.

This Toyota guy is easily one of the best automaker people you've had on camera. And the Tacoma is beautiful. I wish I needed it :D

Nice to see a rep who is obviously passionate and knows what he's talking about regarding the engineering in the truck.

I love it when you get the chief engineer of a product and get them to talk about the how and why they did or didn't do something. Thank you TFL!

What you guys should do is take a Tacoma TRD Pro and a TRD Off Road up the Cliffhanger and see if the upgrade is worth it or even necessary.

Normally I don't care for engineer ride-along reviews, but over-all this guy actually knows his product. Ford/GM: take note.

Though I still disagree about the drum/disc brake issue.

👍 Toyota for that highly competent representative. Wish all manufacturers would send guys like him. That really makes the information quality of those videos better

Can this guy go a video without mentioning the Raptor?

Disc brakes also perform better in wet weather, because centrifugal force tends to fling water off the brake disc and keep it dry, whereas drum brakes will collect some water on the inside surface where the brake shoes contact the drums. By fitting disc brakes to the front wheels and drum brakes to the rear wheels, manufacturers can provide most of the benefits of disc brakes while lowering costs. (Drum brakes are less expensive to make than disc brakes, largely because they can also double as a parking brake, whereas disc brakes require a separate parking brake mechanism.)
a car with disc brakes on both front and rear axles will provide superior braking performance in wet weather and on long downgrades.

What a great change of pace, this rep in the car doesn't say "uh" every other word and KNOWS this truck and it's features

LOL that all BS about the Rear Brake Drum reason to exist...
Its HILARIOUS this truck in plain 2016 still uses rear Drum Brakes at this price point, Its all about cost so please stop brainwashing idiot owners.

I have a 2016 Off road and I absolutely love it. One of the best trucks I’ve had. Given this is my first truck, and have nothing to compare it to, but after learning about Toyota and researching about the Tacoma, before my purchase, totally beats any other truck out there.🤙

That brake story was the biggest fairy tale I ever heard. WOW.

Great truck, though they should have named it Taco "Beef" Supreme.

I've been debating with myself whether to replace my 2004 Dakota with a current mid sized truck, and Toyota sending this guy to talk technical detail had me seriously considering the Tacoma.

I've watched probably 2 dozen fast lane truck vids.. my single biggest issue is the fact this dude drives like a damn grandma on his way to church.... in every video.... DRIVE THE DAMN TRUCK!. drive it man! you baby your Raptor (which I own as well) and every other truck you drive... GO! imagine if Top Gear or Chris Harris just creeped around the track the whole time.. how boring would that be.. that's what this is like. Your production value and line of questioning couldn't be better with your vids.. but damn it... DRIVE!
