very informative video, not a parameter frequently used in SAT/SBT trials. It should be for sure. Thanks for your presentation!

You are a HERO to me, so there's nobody better to ask this than YOU! OK. So behind me, where I'm sitting, there's a Drawer, and In the Drawer, there's a Mercury Medical NIFometer. It's a disposable one, and I have a question about NIF. You know, modern ventilators such as the Drager Series Ventilators, PB840s, PB980s, Servo I vents, and other ICU ventilators have the ability to measure a NIF on the ventilator. For Example on the 840, You go to Respiratory Mechanics, and You select the NIF option. You can perform the NIF that way. Now the Hamilton Ventilators don't have a way to perform a NIF. but other ventilators do. In some hospitals, they're usingthose NIFometers, such as the disposable ones from Mercury Medical and this is the question That I have. What do you think is more accurate? To Measure the NIF on the Ventilator, or to Measure it with a NIFometer? I know this is an unconventional question, but Seriously, I wish It were covered on YouTube!

Congratulations very nice work!!! Can u name some recent studies about the ratio P0. 1/MIP because the only I found were many years ago 1995 etc)

I have questions Mr, how we can preform the P 0.1 on drager vent, what the instructions we have to tell the patient.

Love it. We don't use P 0.1, but I am going to begin experimenting with it now.

In our Hamilton G-5 ventilator this feature is available but it doesn't measure the value all the time
May be it require esophageal catheter

Can you please do a video of APRV / Bilevel. Each are different and sometimes can be hard to explain to Pulmonary Physician.

Thank you so much!Your videos really help!
But i have the question of how to measure p0.1 without using ventilator? There's little information about this....

How do you perform this measurement? Do you perform this measurement the same way you would a NIF?

When to measure this P 0.1?
Is it to measure during Spontaneous breathing trial?
Is there any relation of it with different levels of pressure support?

When I was researching on the normal value of P0.1 I encountered your video. Thanks so much for your informative session! Just a quick question...why is that named "occlusion" pressure? Is that because that's the negative pressure patients can generate when the respiratory circuit is temporarily occluded by the valves (hence the patients is separated from the ventilator)? I'd really appreciate your help!

What is the effect of Trigger settings on occlusion pressure measurement?
