Do you know what Jhatka meat is? #indianfood

Jhatka (झटका) meat refers to a method of animal slaughter practiced primarily by certain communities in India, particularly Sikhs. In the Jhatka method, the animal is killed instantly with a single blow to sever the head, ensuring a quick and, ideally, painless death. This practice contrasts with the Halal method, where the animal's throat is slit, and it dies gradually as the blood drains out. Jhatka meat is significant for those who follow this tradition due to religious beliefs that emphasize minimising the animal's suffering and ensuring the meat is suitable for consumption according to their customs.

It makes a huge difference to the animal. It is not tortured horribly before it dies.

I went to try a popular non-veg dish in Jammu: Khatta Meat (खट्टा गोश्त) or Tangy Meat. It sure tastes different! Dry mango powder gives it a very tangy and unique flavour. Have you tried it?

Its Rajput tradition from rajasthan, kshatriyas only used to eat jhatka meat later adopted by sikhs when they were getting trained under Rajputs thats why sikhs use singh like rajputs and their women use Kaur just like Rajput women use Kanwar.

Location is Eating Point 7, Patoli, Paloura, Jammu. Their Kofta (कोफ़्ता) and Khatta Meat (खट्टा गोश्त) were good, although beware it's not the cleanest place.

A significant number of Sikhs are vegetarian, those who eat meat would, in accordance with the Sikh tradition, prefer Jhatka.

Jhatka is a method of slaughter that swiftly kills the animal with a single swift swing of the blade. There is no slow bleeding to death, it is instantly beheaded. I personally am vegetarian, if people must eat meat then I I consider Jhatka a far more acceptable way of slaughtering animals,
Ultimately, we are all accountable for our own actions. This is why I don’t judge people who eat meat. There is a far greater judge than Ithan myself, when the time comes, I will be judged too according to my deeds.

How cute are those saying in jhatka the pain is less😂
That animal whom you're gonna eat isn't gonna Praise you anyways for the route you choose to put it on your plate.

You are wrong .
after performing jhataka, the blood of the animal stays in the body, while in halal, the blood completely is drained out from the animals body. Halal is healthier than jhatka 😊
