I have a family, we fly, and we are not rich. So for us it's the same thing, but most of our goodies come from Hobbyking and not Horizon. We use Turnigy 9XR radios at $50 a pop (so same capability as a DX9 or 18 but no $800 price tag, so my 5x 9XR radios with 16 channel mixers each, cost together less than a single DX6). Supporting 5 flyers in a family has made me thankful... (NO... GREATFUL!!!) for things like Hobbyking! My daughter has even gotten to where she is flying Twisted Hobbys stuff now, but like he mentioned in the video, we fix em together and it all works out in the end. We may spend a lot, but it is nowhere near what people think we do on RC. As long as there is Dollar Tree foam, Folks like Josh showing us what to do with it, and someone like Hobbyking providing cheap electronics, we will all be flying.

And on that note, I like the ability to actually GIVE away a few planes and helicopters to friends too. I wouldn't do that with truly expensive things, but have given some complete helis, quads and even a plane to friends and family, and since then most of them have come with us to the flying field later.

Regardless, the important part is go do stuff with your kids while you have em.

I just had my 2 year old Juliet paint my FT Racer pink and purple with fuzzy decor. I want to get her up and flying as soon as I can. Loved the video, it was posted right as I started considering teaching her to fly. Thank you, love the channel.

I have a 4 year old son that always asks to fly my quadcopters, but with their value and expertise in use, I always feel bad telling him no, not till he's older. But about a month ago, I bought him a rc boat for his birthday (also one for me, both our first boats) and they are very easy and fun to use. He's been enjoying going out to the lake every time and has been picking up quickly how to use the transmitter since it's a lot easier to use then a two stick transmitter. After watching this I'll be considering a small foam airplane for his first flyer. I like the Magnum that was being flown. Looks like a good starter plane.

This is awesome! I have met Duane and his family at the local RC Runway and he host a lot of events and started 515FPV. It's cool that family enjoys the hobby together. Can't wait to get my kids into it!

It is so good to see kids that have earned the money for their hobby. I guess that is why they appear so excited about the hobby.

That's pretty much my boy, 2 years old and already loves transmitters (apparently called 'mitter') and planes.

Very cool!! We have a guy at our field that started flying with us when he was 7. He is 13 now and better than almost all of us!!  Thanks for coming to visit us at baylands yesterday!

I remember when I first started flying when I was 4. An electric control liner started me off and then a good old foam cub. I can still remember the day my dad brought a Ben Buckle Novice kit home and we built it and flew it. Sweet memories.

The next gen of RC pilots in the making.
Imagine how good they will be when they are our age.

Im glad the sport is easier to get into now. I remember my father getting started with a foam winged, PVC bodied trainer with a aluminum tail spar. Then some years later we built a Kadet LT-40 together for me to start learning on. Seems like forever ago, standing side by side with a buddystick linking controllers.

Great video.  I haven't met too many flying families.  My 10 year old niece likes to decorate my planes but isn't that much into flying them.  I do have some of the sparkliest, pretty in pink planes out there.

Great video, I love to see families having fun and doing hobbies/sports together. I got a lesson myself on the Dromida Ominus today about prop safety, one does not have to arm the quad; my head was a little too close when I tried: it was a near miss.

That's really amazingly awesome!  The two boys fly better than I do and I'm nearly 5 times as old as Noah.  That was fun to watch!!!
