In this video, we give a brief overview of how you can use OnGuard™ to train your dog not to bark at the front door.

Here are the basic steps:

1. Interrupt the behavior using the blinking light, ultrasonic sound, body language, and verbal command

2. Reward (treat or praise/affection) for good behavior

3. Repeat the process consistently until your dog associates his new behavior – being quiet – with a reward.

OnGuard helps by interrupting your dog's problem behavior, allowing you the opportunity to reward your dog for being quiet, even if it is very brief at first. Gradually extending the time between the interrupt and the reward will teach your dog that it is being quiet that gets the reward.

I would like to have seen what happens if there is another doorbell ring immediately after the dog is calmed by the device. I'm guessing the dog will start barking again. My Dachshund will stop barking once the doorbell stops ringing without any electronic encouragement.
