Very informative! Being relatively new to tabletop RPGs, as well as opting to go with Pathfinder, I'm not very knowledgeable about a lot of the DnD races and creatures. I always though Illithids were cool from what I knew, but this really helped solidify how awesome they are. I wasn't aware of how they reproduced by using a host, for example.

Btw, you might have seen this floating around, i haven't looked into verifying it. Anyways I hear, that while illithids create the tadpoles, they also destroy the ones that begin to grow to large or quickly, because they are afraid the tadpole will grow into an Neothelid. They're supposed to be giant worm creatures that eats sentient creatures, its suppoised to be immune to pyscic attacks which is what makes the mindflayers fear it. they only way for it to grow would be for adventurerers or something to destroy a mindflayer colony while leaving tadpoles alive

Ilithids are my favorite race of all D&D, so most all the information here I already was aware of, however it was still an enjoyable video. You briefly mentioned Spelljammer, what, if I recall correctly, was a 2nd edition space adventure version of D&D with very interesting physics and worlds? If you are aware of that might you be doing some episodes on it next year? You could look into the old lore and talk about how it has been adapted for more recent versions. Whatever the case, wonderful video, looking forward to seeing the next 10, I know the beholder is gonna be somewhere in here.

i just finished the House of Serpents trilogy last week, it featured a psionic main character. fucking loved it so much.
