Your remarks about students being so used to learning for the exam resonates so much with me.

For the first time this term, in my principles of macro, I told students what I learned from the comments on my previous evaluations and what I implemented or changed this year's version of the course as a result. Hopefully, that will help generate even more suggestions in my next evals.

Definitely one of the things I always thought about at the end of each NKU semester was if professors actually looked at the evaluations. Good to see you do and take them into consideration. Sometimes I phoned them in if I didn’t have much to say, but I (and I’m sure lots of students) put consideration into some responses when there was constructive feedback. I still remember giving a really critical evaluation of a prof, even when I got an A in the class. If only everyone could give a candid response to their student’s feedback.

My this is so similar to my feedback over the years. I think the appreciation of the value of discussion and application takes time. The feedback from alumni and students in upper years is often more rich. But the attendance point and low response rates to surveys also makes me careful interpreting feedback.

I am working on a paper with Erin Yetter on sentimental analysis scores and STE's.

This got me looking forward to ECO 394 ! After all of those comments, I'm sure it'll be insightful.
