This probably isnt the advice people wanted to hear but it's incredibly mature and thoughtful and very true. One of the best pieces of advice you can get for anything in life is how to be okay with rejection. Know that it isnt personal or a blow to your self worth. And move on.

why do i feel like he was speaking from his own experience? :, ) he didn't even try to sugarcoat it, he literally said it like it is: this is the best way to deal with anything in your life, pretty much. you always have to hold your head high, and don't act like it's the end of the world if things don't go your way. especially if it's a minor crush, or if you're not really sure if that person will return your feelings, it's always best to be upfront, and tell the truth. the worst thing to do is avoiding the topic altogether and just keep pining after someone hopelessly without even taking an initiative.
