Πυργούσικος Xορός Χίου - Pyrgousikos Dance (Chios- Greece)

Ο πυργούσικος είναι ένας χορός από το νησί της Χίου και συγκεκριμένα από το χωριό Πυργί. Πρόκειται για ένα συναρπαστικό χορό με γρήγορο ρυθμό, ο οποίο χορεύεται από ομάδα τριών ατόμων- δύο άνδρες και μία γυναίκα. Η ιστορία πίσω από το χορό, είναι ότι ο αρχηγός του Τρίο είναι ο μέλλον γαμπρός, ο οποίος έχει ταξιδέψει με συνεργό του (ο τελευταίος) για να κλέψουν την μέλλουσα νύμφη (στη μέση). Αυτή η πράξη βέβαια γίνεται το βράδυ και πρέπει να φύγουν γρήγορα από το χωριό σφύγωντας φιχτά την μέλλουσα νύμφη φοβούμενοι μην πάρουν χαμπάρι από την οικογένειά της τι θα συμβαίνει.

From the rich folklore of Pyrgi village in Chios is worth noting the Pyrgi dance (Pyrgousikos). It is a dance that expresses the gallantry and grace, dynamism and vitality of the residents of Pyrgi. It is danced by two men and a woman who remains in the middle. The woman one man by the arm and the other with a handkerchief. An interpretation of the dance is that Pyrgousikos illustrates the very common phenomenon of abduction of women. The first dancer is the kidnapper-groom and the second the friend who offers him assistance.

Le Pyrgousikos est une danse de l'île de Chios et plus particulièrement la région de Pyrgi. Il s'agit d'un rythme rapide, une danse excitante et unique en ce qu'elle est dansée par des groupes de trois. L'histoire de la danse, c'est que le meneur du trio est le futur marié, qui a voyagé avec son complice (la personne à la fin) pour dérober sa future épouse (au milieu). Cet acte est bien sûr fait la nuit et ils doivent rapidement quitter le village serrant la jeune fille emportée de peur que sa famille soit au courant de ce qui se passe.
