Classic sonic to modern sonic is actually perfection. Idk how they could revitalize him any more

I don't think people get it. He isn't asking for a redesign. He's asking for a new model. Like think from Mario Sunshine to Mario Odyssey. Same design, but each time we get a fresh new model that actually matches the art style of the games. He never looks stale because Nintendo keeps him polished in every release.

I want a revamped 06 model, physics and all. Sonic 06’s model looked so slick and honestly lost all potential when Sega only used it in the worst way they could at the time, but that doesn’t stop it from being the best model imo, plus the quill physics when you’re falling down and the quills fly up is so cool and satisfying. I personally think a Sonic model with super long quills, mixed with the expressive eyes from Frontiers, would be an AWESOME idea

I don't mind sonic's current look, but the franchise is in need of a stylistic change, at least for the 3d models. I'd love to see them try a cell-shaded style that incorporates aspects of yuji uekawa's 2d art, or something similar to a 3d anime. Make the style more cartoony and expressive so it stands out more against other major game franchises that try to make their games look more realistic

I don't mind the model because it works, but I do like the idea of a redesign. I was one of the few who did like the Boom design, but I don't think we need something that drastic.

i really liked what they did in sonic prime with the white texture that made his quills look more like quills and overall made him not just look like a chunk of clay

At this point Modern Sonic is iconic, easily recognisable. I get in other forms of media (the movies, tv shows, comics, game adaptations of tv shows, etc...) but as the standard mainline design Modern Sonic is perfect. After the fiasco that was ‘06 I remember seeing the promo images for Unleashed and was like “THIS is perfect!” and I still feel that way now.

To be fair, it's only been like, two years in-universe. Modern Sonic was 15 and should be around 17 now.

(For those wondering, Classic Sonic would retroactively be around 11 due to everyone's ages changing by like four years between design changes and other media.)
