What did you think when watching Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story?

I like the way the victims were humanized and centered around that these were not just victims but REAL people. Too many serial killer docs and shows are more like horror movies and then sensationalize the monsters who destroys peoples lives and happiness. This show was very well done. It brought tears to my eyes.

Peters was phenomenal, he can definitely get an Emmy nomination for his performance, he had the look down but even the calm monotone voice too, amazing show and I can’t believe that the memorial was never built for all of Dahmers victims

Peters did a great job. He is really talented . But I don’t think they need to make any more projects about dahmer.

This is such a deep, truly disturbing show. The acting and well depictions of the each horror events has a really Jaw dropping. I hope Evan Peters gets some serious notoriety.

The wildest thing is how Dahmer actually got away with all this shit for years... How many times people were warned about him how many years was he killing.. the fact that I'm black made this hit even harder

I think they did a great job humanizing the victims in this show. I learned so much about each victim that I actually cried when Tony Hughes was killed. So awful.

I am watching this now and my biggest problem is the makers of this are adding race into a lot of it. Race had very little to do with Dahmer’s crimes. If anything he preferred black or darker skinned men. Is not because he was racist. And the police ignored a lot of it not because it was crimes against blacks but that it involved homosexuals. Tired of trying to find racial problems when they are not there.

I'd honestly enjoy seeing a series like this for other serial killers.

This was so unsettling that I had to binge the whole thing; I didn't think I could sleep until it was over.

I hate when they change details in true crime media. The truth is horrifying and fascinating enough imo.

I believe he snapped within that 3 month period of being alone at 18 and no one checking on him

Claiming respect to families while making money off of them is the only consistent trope these days.

The show isn't really accurate. Glenda Cleveland didn't even live in the same building as Jeffrey Dahmer. People never heard screams from his apartment because he subdued his victims, his neighbours (including his black neighbours) actually liked Dahmer. They didn't think he was creepy and his next-door neighbour Pamela Bass actually cried when Dahmer was killed. She thought he was very polite, etc. She didn't think he was creepy and she ate his sandwiches which made her think she probably consumed human flesh. Jeffrey Dahmer never killed the new guy that moved into the apartment building. That character didn't exist. Dahmer was also never evicted. He never targeted his victims because they were black.

Would love to see a John wayne gacy mini series with the same writers and directors of Dahmer. He's in the last episode of the dahmer series and he's terrifying

I don't think this show sensationalized anything. It definitely didn't glorify Dahmer. It showed him as the true monster he was.
