Im disappointed in myself that it’s took me 18 years to realise that this song is about a cockroach

Now I realize why catering trucks are sometimes called a "roach coach", it's because they're usually fitted with a custom horn that plays this tune. It all makes sense now lol.

My life is better for having learned that La Cucaracha is about a cockroach that can't go along anymore because it's out of weed.

This music should represent humanity when we make contact with extraterrestrial beings.

Everytime something charges at me in a video game, the car horn version of this song blasts in my head.

Rowdy Roddy Piper told the crowd in Mexico City that he was going to play the “Mexican national anthem” on his bagpipes and instead started playing this. The cojones on that guy. He made it out alive

I knew this song was about a cockroach, but not a stoner cockroach. Blows my mind.

A Russian version to this song would be about a bear that desperately craves for vodka.

On every Dutch army base, there's a truck that goes round offering free hot coffee and selling sandwiches and snacks - a vital function to keep everything running smoothly. The truck plays "La Cucaracha" to lure servicemen and contractors to partake in its bounty...

I remembered an interview with Rowdy Roddy Piper he talked about he wanted to apologize to Mexican wrestling fans for insulting them. He was a master of getting the crowd worked up into a frenzy. He said the next time he wrestled in that venue he would honor his apology to them by playing the Mexican National Anthem in the ring on the bagpipes. He said that he was very nervous and kind of laughing inside because he wasn’t sure how they react because he intended to play “La “Cucaracha”. He played the first few notes and the crowd wanted to kill him. They were throwing garbage at him and a few people stormed the ring but security stopped them. Roddy was perhaps the best bad guy in wrestling.

My father used to sing this all the time... and he only speaked "la cucaracha" insted of cockroach.
I even forgot that "cucaracha" wasn't a portuguese word.
This music is a masterpiece
