I’m surprised this story hasn’t been made into a horror movie.

The japanese were actually very crafty. I live in Singapore, so i know how they invaded it during ww2. The british owned Singapore, calling it a fortress that would never be taken over.
However, they believed the japanese would come to invade singapore from the sea, so they set up sea defenses.
But the rear defenses of singapore, near jonor, which was across a sort of lake from singapore, the defenses there were incomplete. But the british were not concerned. If the japanese would come from the rear, from johor, they would have to go through the dense forests of jonor to reach Singapore, which they thought would take about a year. But the japanese made it through jonor, through the jungle using bicycles in 55 days, invading singapore from the rear, something the british thought was impossible.
Like i said, crafty
