I'm happy to be an outsider but I'm dedicated, committed and faithful Olympus (unofficial) Visionary in Ireland and continue to be so to unforeseeable future! Having been passionate photographer for the last 47 years, having started with Soviet made Smena Symbol (also known as Cosmic Symbol) and having had a lot of various equipment in my time from Zenit to Pentax 645 N-II, I have come to not only highly appreciate the Olympus OMD (and Pen) series but also deeply respect the heritage and resilience of the company, who despite all odds have withstood the test of turbulent times and stayed true to it's original Designer's principles and is not afraid to deliver outstanding and revolutionary improvements to not only to their range of equipment but the entire Art form of photography in whole! Often copied but never matched! Thank you Olympus! Call me a Dark Horse - I'm delighted to be one! Greetings from Ireland!

I expected the name to change to OMD or something more creative like Omicron to stay with the Greek theme. 😉 More importantly, I’m patiently waiting for some new products. That new 20mp Sony sensor sounds like a great update.

I was thinking a couple of weeks back, how come no one has implement computacional photography into bodies? And here it is. This is undoubtedly the future, and one thar every camera brand will have to follow/implement in order to stay relevant in the face of phone photography.

Just so you know: Olympus's main industry is in Medical/Life science equipment.

Photography is a side quest that's now over run by smart phones, drones, CGI, AI etc. Just like in the film to digital ways, just like in the mechanical to quartz watch days. They'll still present cameras/lenses to hobbyists (just like mechanical watches are), but push it less. The "tool" of cameras (just like the tool of watches) is taken by smart phones more and more.

It'll be interesting to see how other brands do.

It's better to concentrate more improvements on the Medical side of things (btw if you've ever had a hospital visit, there's probably an Olympus that helped you.)

I still have and use from time to time my EM-5 mk1 and I wish you good luck. You may say you don't compete with others such as Sony or Nikon but you gonna have to. If not with sensor size, then at least with other things like: BSI sensor, near smartphone level computational photography, AI, and last, but certainly not least: PRICES.

Congratulations on the name change, but I would like to ask if the OM system is interested in continuing to sell in Indonesia. Olympus Customer Care Indonesia (OCCI) has been selling sample cameras and lenses as it is the leading and sole distributor. Also, most of their employees were out. There are no new products for EPL10 and EM10 Mark IV. Based on community data (ID Olympus), we have about 2, 000 users (professionals and hobbies) and love Olympus, so we hope that the OM system will continue to be sold. The president and vice president also being photographed using Olympus. Hopefully please don't abandon us.
