This exercise is an advanced plyometric movement that stimulates muscle power gains. Muscle power improves acceleration and reaction time. Plyometrics are also great preventative exercises for athletes. Plyometrics simply mean going from a stretched muscle to a shortened muscle in a short amount of time. This type of exercise utilizes the spring effect of muscles(pulling a spring apart and it springs back to its original shape). You can do this exercise on any raised surface. The higher the surface, the harder the exercise.
