This is a great insight into the issues and factors which you face before taking on a flight. This series has made me want to pursue my PPL and I am very close to LeedsBradford Airport (15mins drive). I will be making some enquiries today into how I get the ball moving. Thanks for the videos.

Interesting that in the UK you guys also have graphical area forecasts! The format is almost identical to here in the land down under!

One of the things that I like about this video is that it underscores how much apps like SkyDemon, and especially ForeFlight, are essentially about collecting and streaming information from diverse sources through a single app. All of these aviation apps are essentially about repackaging data from elsewhere. The benefit, of course, is that they save time.

I tried SkyDemon on a trial basis, and really liked how it works for VFR, but the developer says specifically that it is not reliable in North America.

We get good weather info in the New York area, but I really like the way that the Met Office presents weather data (from about 6:15). We could learn from that.

I have to say, the transition from the States to U.K. ATC is a challenge for sure. I can’t believe things are so different with the level of service for ATC.
