Ryzen 7 5800U is Incredible...EXCEPT - ASUS Zenbook 13 OLED Review

With the Zen 3 coming to thin and light ultrabooks AMD managed to cram 8 cores and 16 threads into their Ryzen 7 5800U. And in the ASUS Zenbook 13 OLED UM325 the performance, battery life and screen bring it all together into one of the best laptops in 2021 under $1000. BUT there are a bunch of concerns we need to discuss about 5800U availability, gaming performance and more, not to mention some odd design decisions from ASUS.

I would love to see what this would do at a higher TDP, say 40-45. The lack of upgradeable RAM is a terrible thing and makes you jump to a 16 gig version just to avoid being short down the road.

I am perfectly happy with my Zenbook Flip 15. It has a Ryzen 7 4700u, touchscreen with pen support, mx350, and it still has a headphone jack. Every laptop should- there is plenty of room so no excuse. Wired sounds better and is better for the environment- no charging and no lithium batteries needed. Long live the headphone jack.

I've been following this model, great display, monster processor... The most appealing laptop *for me* if it ever gets full Linux distro compatibility.

Thunderbolt would be a GREAT feature.
The ability to grab a used graphics card in 6 months and make your laptop a decent gaming machine when you dock it is what made me advise 11th gen over an overpriced out of stock gaming laptop, or an amd laptop to my brother

7:37 - I keep watching these 5800U laptop with joys and cheers until this moment I realize there is no 3.5mm jack, it's a no buy for me easily, lacking that hole is unacceptable.

It appears that 16" laptops with the larger vertical aspect ratio may be a major challenger in 2022. Hopefully, better web cams and screens will improve that segment. I find your reviews interesting and well thought out and your voice is easy to understand. Thank you
