I finally know what my skin condition is. I'm 50 and have had this my entire life. I also have KP as well. My dad has the same condition. I can now have a conversation with my dermatologist.

Hi Dr.Dray. I loved this video, it is very informative. My parents live in England and my dad was diagnosed with a form of cancer a year ago. And now he has Eczema or what you have described in this video. The cream they gave him in England was not working very well I have watched many of your videos and I have taken many notes 🤣 my skin has improved dramatically after watching your videos. So I sent my dad all the creams that I thought he needed, and now his eczema has improved. He has thanked my but I told him that YOU get the credit. Thanks Dr. Dray…🤗

Ty for addressing extremely dry skin. I’ve had it all my life. I’m 59 & I always looked younger for my age. But, not now

I have suffered from what my family called "trishas alligator skin" my entire life. It wasn't until I was an adult that I went to a dermatologist who gave me the name. When I grew up I was picked on because of my skin being different. I now have a son who is 14 who suffers from eczema and has inherited icythosis vulgaris from me. I have raised him aware of what it is called and he is quick to educate even school nurses.

This is such an eye opener. Lived all my life with people telling me I'm lazy because I didn't want to shower all the time, or assuming I don't take care of myself or moisturize. When i was just a 25-year-old girl, a client told me I had "worker hands" in front of many people and it was so upsetting. Thank you for this video. I never understood why i take vitamins, quit drinking, have collagen, blah blah...but have such dry skin!

Thank you for the highly educational content! I have several of the "dry skin" conditions related to this specific one and I absolutely dread the winter months, I swap my AC for the humidifier in early October. I religiously use CeraVe SA body wash for KP and Amlactin or Eucerin roughness cream twice pet day. I only started using these products within the last few years. Vaseline wasn't enough and I've since relocated to an area with extremely hard water which has exacerbated my skin. I was fortunate to find a new PCP who finally changed my Rx for an emollient for psoriasis, a game changer! My prior doctor would not dream of changing the steroid as she said you cannot grow tolerant to the medication. For about 10 years my psoriasis was left untreated, treated with a med that no longer worked and all other skin conditions worsened or developed in that time. Without your content, I'd still be suffering. Thank you!

Well I have everything you described minus the long lashes, go figure. Thank you so much, this was highly informative. A lot of the treatment methods I figured out on my own along the way but I really appreciate you mentioning consistency. That really is the most important advice as far as management. Thank you!

This is a really good video, spreading awareness like this, all my life I've been dealing with this and no amount of lotion I used got my legs to look moisturized, this is an embarrassing condition at times, as it limits what you wear, as your dry skin will be on display.

All of my life, I have felt a bit ashamed of my "wrinkly" hands and feet. I also suffered from Keratosis Pilaris), albeit, a mild case. My legs have gotten progressively more dry until I lost most of the bumps and all of the hair off my legs permanently (have not shaved legs in 12 years and they look like I just shaved). I also have mild eczema on left hand and some toes. Looking at my hands and feet and listening to the video hit I know the cause of my skin issues. I use a variety of over the counter creams with urea and lactic acid as well as petrolatum with good success, but the wrinkly hands and feet are there to stay☹️

I have ichthyosis and have found AMAZING results this year with skin cycling - Amlactin, one morning, then Retinol lotion the 2nd day, then a rich moisturizer the 3rd day.

Thank you Dr Dray for covering this! I inherited this from my Dad, though he’s the gene carrier. As a child the condition was much worst, but with better products on the market, I’ve seen a huge difference. I was first diagnosed at age 12, before that, I was taken to every Dr bc my family had no clue where I got it from. Once I had a name, I was ok with it. I remember telling my grandma, “who ever wants to marry me will have to accept me the way I am!” She wanted to take me to another derm and I said no. He told me the do’s and don’ts and I have lived by them ever since. No hot showers, no wool directly on my skin etc. I use cetaphil’s baby wash and shampoo as my soap. Lotion I flip back and forth but I never use Vaseline only. On my lower leg I use a product with 22% Urea. The old dys I remember they treated my condition using my own urine and lemon; now I know why. I do not have it on my face, but my hands and feet are dry and yes, those lines. As a side note, I was recently diagnosed with LPP with some scarring bc I mistook some of the signs for IV. When I asked Dr Donovan about the correlation, he said it could be. I don’t complain about it as I’ve learnt to live with it at its worst and now at my best thanks to modern improvements. I appreciate you covering this topic. 🙏🏽❤️

Omg thank you for this video! I had no clue about this condition and I always wondered why areas of my body were extremely dry or my hands had so many lines (I even get comments on my long eyelashes). And I definitely see it on my family too. I thought I was just bad at moisturising :)

As a child growing up in fl I was ALWAYS in shorts or bathing suit and I was so embarrassed of the dry scaly skin on my shins and calves!! It was definitely this condition. Now I know how to handle it, THANK 😘❤❤❤❤❤
