City of DeKalb, IL

The City of DeKalb is a municipal government that follows the Council-Manager form of government. The Mayor, city manager, and elected officials have launched a new campaign: "Belonging in DeKalb." The goal is to establish a culture of belonging and make sure the community is welcoming of all ethnicities, cultures, and backgrounds. The intent is to bridge gaps between diverse groups and local institutions to co-create a community where all members are seen, valued, and respected. The feeling of "belonging" is intended to encompass not only residents but small businesses and larger corporations alike, that want to make their home in DeKalb.
