Sorry that we make afrian friends feel weird. China is not like other country, it is neither an immigration country such as America and Canada nor a popular travel destination in the world such as Thailand and Japan, because the western media talks too much bad stuff about China. Except for places like Shanghai which local people are getting used to see foreign people with differet races, a lot of Chinese people rarely saw an afrian or caucasian toursit in their life...They have only seen other races through movies or series, It's not they are raciast or mean, they simply feel foreign faces interesting especially when your Chinese is super good and behavior is super cool, everybody around you must be amazed. Give China some time, I hope the people will be more and more openminded. Plus older Chinese people really like staring, even at Chinese for anything including PDA, young girls wearing pretty clothes etc. lol

That's because we are not an immigration country like US and Latin America, and we have a so large population which is all Asian faces . There are still millions of peolple have never seen a foreigner . Meanwhile, due to our large territory, travel in China from one province to another province is the same like you guys go aboard . So, many of us have never went aboard to familiar with black guys .

In a city like Beijing, they have seen foreigners walking around the city, There are plenty of tourists that travel to Beijing weekly. Also there's a lot of English teachers, business professionals and international students. Beijingers have seen foreigners before but for some they may have not seen too many or haven't had any real interaction with foreigners. There's a difference between seeing someone in eye view and interacting with them.
