I totally understand! I’ve had 4 surgeries this year so I’ve had to empty all of my envelopes to put toward medical bills so it doesn’t get out of hand!! I was sad but once I’m all healed up I can start over.

The best part about a reset is you are doing exactly what your family needs to do during these crazy times. I am constantly saying that our family is re-evaluating one piece of our budget every week. our finances need to be able to adapt as frequently as we do, depending on what is going on. Re-evaluating priorities just stregthens that we are being intentional with our budgets.

OMG! I just did this with some of my low priority sinking funds and called it reallocating my funds and putting the dollars to better use. I paid off the balance of my student loans with the money! Feels so GOOD!

I found myself resetting several times which led me to just keep everything in one high yield savings online. It is basically the reason I stopped making budget videos… to pull out money to stuff it, to change stuff, to than have to take stuff back to the bank so often became more hassle than it was worth in the end.

Yay for resetting! It has helped me to make a list of the most important things to save for at the beginning of the year. I reassess every month to make sure that is still what I need to be saving for. It has made saving so much easier this year! You made such amazing progress! 😊🌸❤

I think some people probably have too many sinking funds, at least from my observation(some could be consolidated). It adds stress to the budgeting process when you have so many funds, and then try to do savings challenges. Periodic resets can give a refresh to the budget vision and priorities.
