What are dilations, similarity and scale factors
Показать описание
👉 Learn about dilations. Dilation is the transformation of a shape by a scale factor to produce an image that is similar to the original shape but is different in size from the original shape. A dilation that creates a larger image is called an enlargement or a stretch while a dilation that creates a smaller image is called a reduction or a shrink. The measures of the sides of the original shape and the corresponding sides of the image are proportional. And the distance of the parts of the original shape from the origin are proportional to the distance of the corresponding parts of the image.
