Silver bullion pitfalls to avoid & what I wish I knew when I started.

When I first started stacking silver bullion, I just bought anything because it looked cool. If you're new to investing in bullion and precious metals, I will tell you what pitfalls to avoid and what coins to focus on spending your money on.
I've asked it before and I'll ask it again... Are you a collector or an investor?

nailed it in this here video, I made the exact same foul ups, I mean to the T, from here on out I'll only get a few more 10ozs just for the weight and government coins just as you shown in this video.

that's why in my opinion these type videos you guys are putting out is "as valuable as the silver is itself"

You hit it on the head. I made a few of those mistakes and one day I took all of it in and traded for ASE’s. Took a small hit, but you pay to learn sometimes!!!

Great points you are making. I came to the same conclusion thru trail and error. I have stacking for a little over 4 months now.

some great points. thanks for your ideas.☺

i personally have moved to just bullion from a good dealer

easy to buy and sell once you get that much needed relationship with the dealer.

Excellent advice. I made the mistake of buying fractional silver when I had accumulated what I thought was a good base. My LCS marks up bullion at $1.50 over spot for generic 1oz rounds and bars, and 10oz bars.... I went to buy 1/2oz rounds and was sticker shocked: $2.40 over spot. Lesson learned! I love to buy junk silver as well.... it's like a drug addiction lol.

I buy a lot of sterling silver at thrift stores and garage sales. It is getting harder to find it these days, but it is the best and cheapest way to get silver.

Great short video. Thanks for taking the time to record this and put it out - I know it takes way more than 5 min to do this. Good advise for new stackers. I made the mistake of overpaying for an ms69 slab coin when I started out. Keep it simple at first and then diversify when you feel you have a better understanding of the field.

I'm not sure I agree with you on ASE and Maples. If you stack those when spot is too high then you can have to wait a long time to even get your money out again. Why should a beginner be almost guaranteed to lose out at > $19 spot. Spot price. Stacking Objective. Time Horizon are also incredibly important. If the objective is to bet on the silver price then this is sound but a trading platform may be easier. If it's long term wealth then premium is where the generation of profit lies assuming you don't overpay when buying.

I was a collector when I started 3-5 years ago. Within the last year or so, I am buying close to spot silver and gold

I agree with you to an extent. I would certainly stay away from any modern coins that have been slabbed. I have a couple exceptions, Burnished/Proof ASE's and Chinese Pandas. Once someone establishes an initial stack then it may be time to expand into other bullion coins such as Mexican Libertads, Somali elephants, Chinese Pandas, UK Britannias, etc. One last modest descent, if you started the Zombucks from the first issued round then you would be doing pretty good overall. The premium was never that bad upon initial release.

Stick to generic when you first start stacking. Especially if your a weight stacker.

That 5gram bar could be ideal for the face of a ring or pendant... All is not lost.

from a silver content, sterling at .925 is higher than pre 65 american coins that were .90 silver.
and a lot of people like there cull silver....

speaking of cull silver, if you have not watched any of his last videos, highly recommend, including what type of stacker are you...

I'm a bit confused as to the comment about bars (1 oz.) being cheaper than rounds. It has been my (limited) experience that they are the same price and if the bars are tarnished the pride is the same regardless. Admittedly, I've been acquiring silver only recently and only when I had both the discretionary cashola and spot prices were down. But at the moment, my quantities are stagnant for both reasons.
Please explain if the comment of bars vs rounds is, indeed, accurate or a misstatement. Thank you.

At the end of the day in a economic collapse silver is silver right? I bought 240 1 gram generic silver rounds that I think would be accepted just the same as silver produced by a more reputable producer of silver.
