St. Joseph Peninsula State Park Campground

We're excited about our week camping on Cape San Blas and wanted to share our campsite, views of the campground and the beaches there in the State park. This campground is beautiful! It was recently rebuild because of hurricane destruction and they have updated all of the sites to have lots of room between them with gravel drives and full hook-ups. There's direct beach access from the campground and the park offers miles of hiking trails along the peninsula. There's lots to enjoy there whether you want to relax at the campsite, take a fishing trip, kayak the inland lagoons, or hike the back country along the peninsula. Gulf County, Florida is a beautiful place! It's one of our favorite areas to visit and enjoy during our local travels.

Horseshoe crab! When I moved to P.C. 22 years ago, I'd never heard of those. The first one I saw scared me 😆! Great video! Happy camping!❤

This campground looks fantastic. Thanks for brining it to the attention of RVers. Now the test will be, can I get a site? Nice job on dinner.

Waking up then drowsing in bed until you HAVE TO get up is a favorite part of camping. Abby's got it right

My daughter takes her family to the shore, Ocean city MD, for her birthday in November. I tease her about going for a dip. They did a great job on the rebuild of that park. Thanks for taking me along.

Abby to keep your colored lights from knotting up, get a piece of 1/4 plywood or other stiff material and cut it to 18-24" long 4-6" wide. Cut a V in each end and a slot in center to get 4 fingers in. Wraps your lights up and no knots !! Laughed when the deer came out of nowhere. Even they know the famous Abom cooking when they smell it. Appaude you all for cleaning the beach and everywhere you go. Glad there are still some that care about world we live in. Just love N your videos, so far I have been to the mountains, the pacific, the grand canyon, the desert, the dusty panhandle, even down the east coast all without having to put my shoes on. Enjoy your mini vacation - stay safe

Abby I also pick up trash when hiking or on the beach. Sometimes people just have no clue. Thanks

Although, I"m a little sad that the Gulf Breeze area is now a parking lot it's great to see they are making progress and reopening this park. It was our absolute favorite place to be in Sept. Mexcio Beach and Port St Joe pre-Michael were the cats meow as far as we weree concerned. Small town, laid back NOT Panama CityDestin crazy crowded touristy places. Just caught your Topsail Hill video last night as it looks like the way I remember the old Gulf Breeze area. Thanks for sharing! Might have to get online and see if I can snag the campsite ya'll were occupying...it looks like it might be our kinda spot.... (we camp with pups and need sites that are a little private so they don't yep at everyone going by). Thanks again for the tour ....ya got me wanting to come visit PSJ and the Piggly Wiggly again! Safe travels and look forward to your next adventure.

20 years ago, this entire area was so much better than today. After hurricane Denis, things have drastically changed, and not nearly for the better!

Wow!! it sure looks fantastic I'm from Tallahassee and the last time I was there was close to 2 years ago lately when we've gone down that way we only go as far as St. George Island and they were still working on the campground you could go to the end just past the campsite entrance but you couldn't go into the camping area, but wow it's really awesome something else they didn't have then was the boats and pontoons that area directly out from there is a really good fishing area because like on the gulf ( and Yes that is a horseshoe crab some times the pour things get caught up in the tide changes and can't seem to make their way back to safety). back to what I was saying the continental shelf out in the gulf comes up real close to this part of the coast and that accounts for the greater depths close to shore and that darker blue colors and from there past Panama City are areas where they have deep water fishing tournaments, it sure is different to see it like this versus mid-summer when it's hot and crowded as heck!! Thanks for this it's been an awesome video! A shoutout to the people from Arkansas these people are right it's an absolutely beautiful place and if you want, go to a place that I feel is just as nice, try St. George Island which is back farther east about half an hour (A must eating place is the Blue Parrot, it sits right on the gulf)!! and if you want to get some souvenirs, clothing etc. go to the SGI (St George Island trading company) in the same area and right next to it is a place called Beach Planet which is owned by the same people and there is one on Cape San Blas also, either way have a great time!! I will have to warn you about something though that the late great Jaques Ives Cousteau said "The sea, once it casts its spell, holds one in its net of wonder forever" Peace my friends and have A Merry Christmas!

if that is the same place we stayed at (2014-ish) they have made a LOT of improvements. We took a popup out there. We booked a month out and ended up arriving in a storm. I set my camper up by myself in a "lull" of the storm. The weather was hell all weekend. Bad enough that the gulf-side shore wasn't good unless you wanted to get sand blasted, and the bay side was nice... but there was only a small area we were allowed to swim at. We ended up breaking camp after two nights and driving to Jacksonville for better weather. Not the park's fault, but that trip was bad enough we have only been to the panhandle three times since. Past July we went to Carrabelle.... it was a great three-day stay. One I'll do again later.

We were right around 21.00 in the Windsport with the silver Equinox close to the bathroom. Opposite ends of the campground.

Where did you get that cast iron “lamp” for citronella? I’ve been looking but can’t find anywhere. Thanks
